EP 4. – Cottage Renovation Update

Hi there and welcome to the 4th episode of Kapella Group’s Friday Field Videos. Today, I’m walking a unit at a senior living community that we’re midway through renovating. In today’s video, I’m going to show you what we’ve done so far and what still needs to be completed.

Before Renovations

The community I’m at today is a high end retirement community with a number of cottages surrounding the main building. Before new residents move in, they meet with members of the leasing team to design their ideal home for retirement.

Let’s take a look at what this cottage looked like before we started renovations…

Midway Through Renovations

The scope of work on this unit is pretty expansive and includes a number of layout changes including opening up the kitchen and basement. 

In addition to this, we will be retiling the showers and bath areas, installing new flooring throughout the unit, replacing all of the lighting fixtures, installing brand new cabinets, building a new fireplace, and repainting.

At this point, we are a little over half way through our renovation. We’ve completed all of the layout changes and repainted the unit and are well underway with bathroom upgrades. In the next few weeks, we will be installing our cabinets and flooring and then putting the finishing touches on this unit.
